There shouldn't be any audio files. Are you sure they have not been used?

A DVD has a audio_ts folder which shold be empty ( it is for DVD Audio
discs). There should only be files in the video_ts folder.

What software are you using to burn the DVD ?

It looks like its tried to burn it as an audio CD as ".cda" is audio CD track format !

At the time I am using Nero v 6.000 or IMGtool, but the details above
are by purely placing the said blanks into the DVD....drive (not
attemting to burn at this stage.

What software are you using? I use Nero and use the DVD Video setting. It
does sound like you are using a audio cd setting.

Using Nero 6.0.0.0 ultra.
ImgTool 0.91.1
Decryptor 3.1.9.0
DVD Shrink 3.05b & 3.1

The above s/w were recommended at a comprehensive Forum guide
(Decryptor). The guide takes a newb like me right thro' the process of
making a copy of ones DVD film.

Further inf'...
When I check the said "blank" disks using ISObuster & Nero..they show
"blank" disks as EMPTY.
Checked all known settings in the software & unable to see where I
have settings for AUDIO in error, with DVD blanks etc.
I am still optamistic these "blanks" may be usable, but afraid to try
any more of my stock.....I am to purchse a couple of R/RW disks.

Hope this helps to analise my predicament further.?

Don't worry!

My old Win98SE pc shows blank DVD-R's (Pioneer 104) as having 1 .cda
track on them in Windows Explorer - don't know why. Anyway I can burn
them with Prassi on Nero with no problem, then they become normal data
or video DVDs

May I ask what "Prassi" refers to in your post.?
Prassi Primo DVD 2.0 - a DVD burning application that was very good
but has been discontinued and doesn't work on my Pioneer 106 in my
main PC.

I've relegated it to my old PC along with the Pioneer 104 DVD-R drive.

If you can find this software it may or may not work with your drive
as there are no more driver updates being produced.

Thanks all....problem solved:...pheeeeeew.
In Mike's last but one post he stated "blanks should still be
OK".(O/S issue?)

Sure enough.... burnT a backup copy of my Harry Potter DVD movie.
NO PROBLEMS WITH THE SAID BALNK DISKS ....READ MY ORIGINAL POST.

It proved an easy answer in the end, and I just hope, as in many
successful conclusions, this NG subscribers will benefit, as well as
myself.
