Hi all
I bought a Pioneer DVR-3100 (standalone recorder, not for PC) recently to
convert old videos to DVD and to backup some of my watched-to-death DVDs.
However, the player throws up the message 'copyright protected - cannot
copy' when trying to copy some discs. From spending the last hour and half
reading old posts in this group, I'm guessing that this protection isn't
anything to do with Macrovision, so:
1. Am I correct in assuming that Macrovision only prevents copying of DVD to
video?
2. Is there a way to disable or get around the copyright protection that I
am experiencing? I've seen these two products recommended for this:
http://www.techtronics.com/uk/shop/873-techtronics-vcr-mode-upgrades.html
http://www.sonel.com/
Would either of those leads sort out the problem?
Any advice would be appreciated.
